CPL TFC Tournament

We are currently in our push to register teams for the CPL TFC tournament for this Winter to be held in Dallas, TX this December. If you are unaware of the CPL organization and it's events, visit www.thecpl.com.

I feel confident we will get the teams we need, but I want to appeal to any of you who have not seriously considered coming to do so now.

The TFC tournament is an OFFICIAL CPL tournament. It is not a BYOC tourney, or a 'side' tourney. The current prize being offered is $10,000. The fact that we are an official tournament means that TFC will be getting much public exposure - CNN, ESPN, and other known news organizations cover this event. This is the first time TFC has ever been included in a professional gaming event.

Many TFCers attended the Summer CPL event, and of those, I think almost ALL are returning. Why? Because this was an event that was so FUN, and so WORTH THE EXPENSE, that they feel justified in going again.

We have caravans coming from all over the country. If you need a ride, we can likely find you one. We have 8 or 9 people sharing rooms, making the lodging expense very manageable - we can help you find a room as well. You don't need to form a team - we have teams that will take you, and we can make teams from all those not currently on a team. This community is really coming together for those that commit to attending.

While I feel we will get the 16 teams required, nothing would please the CPL more than for us to get even MORE teams. It has already been suggested that we will be included in the Summer 2003 event, with twice the prize monies - having a showing greater than expected would lock that possibility in place.

But beyond that incentive for attending, come so that you can meet those people with whom you have played and conversed in this game for so long. Come enjoy the sense of community that we love online that is SO much more enhanced in person. Come to show your support and love for our game.

You are talking 12-18 hours driving at the most.. easy to do..
Get on I-10 and follow it east through AZ, NM and then to texas and dallas.

Hrmm...not quite. I live in Phoenix and just went to El Paso not too long ago. It was about 10 hours, but I was with my boss and he was driving the speed limit :/ If you drive like me I would say around 15 hours from here. If you drive the speed limit, better plan more one 20 hours.

Please, if you are interested in coming, contact me in the #cpl-tfc channel, or email me at tonya@thecpl.com. We have 14 teams now, and desperately need to fill the final two. When you contact me, I can place you on one of the two last teams, who are accepting anyone as members.

You will have SOOO much fun at this event - it will be well worth your time and the expense. This is our ONE chance to prove to the CPL that we are worthy of a tournament. Filling our 16 teams for the Winter CPL will ensure our inclusion in the Summer CPL.

Keeping tabs on clans, and going around promoting the event takes a lot of work, patience, and time.

It happened about 3 and half months ago ( around June 18th or so ).
I got a job as a computer programmer for a company called Outsource Financial Services.
